How often should I have a hygiene appointment?

Most patients use this service every six months or so. We recommend frequent visits in order to prevent the build-up of tartar and plaque, as this can lead to bacteria forming in the mouth, which in turn can cause infection and tooth decay.

What happens during a hygiene appointment?

At your regular dental hygiene appointments, our highly trained hygienists will assess your gum health, checking for any signs of gum disease before performing a thorough, professional clean. After, we’ll be able to help develop a personalised dental hygiene treatment routine based on your own unique needs.

Why is it important to regularly visit the dental hygienist?

With such regular visits, our hygienists will also be able to keep an eye on gum health. If gum disease is found to be present, we may recommend more frequent visits in order to get the gums back in good health through regular monitoring. In advanced cases, your hygienists and our dental team will work together to treat the issue.

What should I be doing at home to help my dental hygiene?

Our hygiene team will be able to design a personalised action plan if needed, but for all our patients, we recommend brushing the teeth twice a day for two minutes with a fluoride toothbrush, flossing regularly, and changing out your toothbrush or toothbrush head every three months.

My tooth extraction was dealt with professionally and with compassion. I was constantly asked if I was alright and if I was feeling any pain. Everything was explained to me before the procedure and also what I needed to do after the procedure. Pedro is fantastic I used to have a phobia of going to the dentist but he is so kind, patient and gentle and I really don't mind my visits now. My daughter had to have her first filling ever. She's neurodivergent and autistic. Louis her dentist was absolutely amazing.. kind, understanding and above all patient. This is a truly welcoming dental practice. The staff are all really friendly and helpful from reception to the dental team. The Clinic is clean and well set out and is a welcoming environment. I saw Jurate Vietrenkiene and she and her assistant were very kind, reassuring and knowledgeable. I was greeted by a very personable receptionist and seen on time by the dentist. The dentist conducted his examination of my teeth without causing me any discomfort, unlike previous surgeries where the dentist seemed to take great delight in poking my gums with a sharp implement. Does anyone like going to the dentist? Probably not but the dentists here do their best to make that experience as good as possible! The surgery is bright and clean with good reception staff. The dentist that I see is a fantastic man who clearly loves his job and does everything he can to make your appointment less tense and scary. I have had a couple of fillings and a root canal and crown and the work done has been very good.Visit this dentist, feel good about your teeth!

New owners are Portuguese, so don't get confused with dentists there from the past. I am terrified of dentists, but my teeth were in need of work, I had 2 painlessly removed and some other work all without pain. I have now got my wife going there who also is terrified of dentists but she like me had no pain having the work done. Without a doubt the best dentist I have used.
